Let’s revisit our childhood

Something is changing very fast in these times, when the over-reliance on medicines in the fight against Covid-19 has shaken the inner confidence of the people. The medicines are needed when someone is sick or fighting the curse of the pandemic, but these medicines do little to preempt the visit of the virus. Inner strength is needed for that.
It may sound like a sermon, but the things as these make it very clear that our faith in the medicines is far greater than our own abilities to overcome the challenges ahead even though it happens to be pandemic moving around in the atmosphere. “ Stay Home, Stay Safe” has become a slogan for us to save ourselves from the pandemic and ill-effects that are as deadly as these can be – death.
Yes , pandemic can strike, young and old . That can land us in already overwhelmed hospitals at the mercy of the overworked doctors and medical staff , but that offers little guarantee as to how would we be emerging out of the situation there . It is anyone’s guess, and the times are such that no blame can be laid at anyone’s door. Any lapse or shortage can be blamed on to the severity of the second wave of Covid-19.
In Jammu and Kashmir, we are particularly scared . There are genuine reasons; the death and the infection rate in the union territory is higher as compared to the population of other places. Jammu, in particular, is showing a worrying trend of high rate of deaths . On an average we have been seeing more than 35-40 deaths per day . Its infection rate is slightly better than that of the Kashmir Valley . This should make us understand that there is less testing in Jammu region and that’s why there are no exact results available , or it could be that the people are hesitant about getting tested , and treating themselves with the medicines which their doctors suggest. Second thought is more worrying if the infection rate is less and deaths are higher, then there are certain loopholes that we have not been able to plug . It is for the officials to throw light on this, or those who are undergoing treatment in the hospitals can tell it, but we should not lose sight of the problems staring at us.
What comes to our mind is that we are going to land in the feared situation . This is what is increasing our troubles and adding to fears that are imaginative . The precautions are the best medicine . I was watching a video of a young girl who had drawn all the 26 alphabets on her roof top and each set of alphabet was interrupted with skipping, push ups and foot movement and different ways to exercise . The song being played in the background was “ Chak De India”, something which we all identify with the struggle and victory. No victory comes before the struggle .
All of us are aware of the exercises that we had been doing since our childhood . Just do that , it will change our whole system . Apart from enhancing our immunity , it will keep us happy. The life of Corona is just 14 days, why are we killing ourselves for the whole life just because Corona is there. We shall overcome . Let’s revisit the childhood.
