PSPS GCW Gandhinagar observes International Day Against Drug Abuse and Illicit Trafficking 2024.

The NCC cadets of Padma Shri Padma Sachdev Govt College for Women,Gandhinagar marked the International Day Against Drug Abuse and Illicit Trafficking with fervent zeal by participating in a series of dynamic activities designed to raise awareness about the pernicious effects of drug abuse. The cadets exemplified their commitment to social responsibility, echoing the 2024 theme, “The Evidence is Clear: Invest in Prevention.” on 26th June,2024.

 The 81 cadets participated in an online pledge, “Say Yes to Life. No to Drugs,” on the MyGov portal, an initiative by the Narcotics Control Bureau. This collective online and offline pledge along with ANO and Staff of the College highlighted their resolute stand against drug abuse, promoting a drug-free lifestyle.

Creativity took center stage as the 32 cadets immersed themselves in a vibrant poster-making competition. This activity allowed them to visually articulate the grave dangers of drug abuse and the importance of prevention. The posters, bursting with creativity and powerful messages, became a medium to educate and inspire peers and the community about the imperative need to combat drug abuse.

The day’s momentum continued with an impactful Symposium on the theme ” *Combating the crisis, Intervention in drug abuse prevention”, . This symposium was not  just a talk but a spirited call to action. The cadets, armed with information by participating in an online quiz aimed to awaken the public to the lurking threat of drug addiction. The cadets passionately conveyed how drug abuse can ensnare individuals, leading to a lifetime of struggles, and emphasized the critical ways to remain vigilant and safe.  Dr.S P Sarswat, the Principal of the College applauded the cadets participation in the International Day Against Drug Abuse and Illicit Trafficking under the guidance of Lt. Suman Bala which serves as an inspiring reminder of the power of youth activism in championing crucial social causes.
