Ramban, July 22 : In order to ensure the safety and quality of food served to pilgrims during Shri Amarnath Yatra, Food Safety Officer Block Ramban, Balbeer Singh and Food Analyst MFTV Javed Haseeb today conducted a thorough inspection of langers at Chanderkote.
During the inspection, the Food Safety Officer checked the hygiene and sanitation conditions of the langers, and also ensured that all food handlers have undergone proper medical checkups and are wearing proper uniforms and gloves.
They collected and tested 40 Food samples through MFTV (MOBILE Food testing van) all samples were found to confirm the standard under FSSR. Imparted training programs and awareness programe regarding Food safety, Good manufacturing practice/Good Hygiene practice and Save food share Food.
Additionally, the Food Safety Officer in presence of Mukesh Sharma Nodal Officer Langers conducted training sessions for the Sevadars (volunteers) on proper food handling, preparation, and serving practices to prevent food contamination and ensure food safety. The inspection and training aim to provide safe and wholesome food to the pilgrims and ensure a healthy and safe yatra experience.
Moreover, the Food safety team also tested 10 samples through MFTV in the Chanderkote market out of which one sample was found sub standard. The Food Safety officer lifted two enforcement samples and one Surveillance samples for Analysis.
