Jammu, August 21 : In a bid to enhance campus safety and support for newcomers, GGM Science College has launched a new initiative led by NSS students. This program combines an Anti-Ragging Campaign with an Admission Counseling support system, aimed at fostering a welcoming and
secure environment for all students.
Under the leadership of Principal Prof. (Dr.) Romesh Kumar Gupta, the college has introduced a dedicated help desk where NSS volunteers provide assistance and guidance to newcomers. This initiative focuses on creating a supportive space where students can seek help and address concerns related to ragging and admission processes.
Prof. (Dr.) Romesh Kumar Gupta emphasized the importance of the initiative, stating, “Our goal is to create a supportive environment where students can seek help and guidance freely. The student-led counseling at the help desk is a crucial step towards achieving a safe and ragging-free campus.”
The initiative was carried out under the guidance of NSS Programme Officers Dr. Rahul Kait and Dr. Neha Sharma. They highlighted the role of NSS volunteers in providing immediate support and addressing any concerns related to ragging. The program has been well-received by both students and faculty, underscoring the college’s commitment to maintaining a respectful and secure campus environment.
