LG Manoj Sinha today had a meeting with Union Power & NRE Minister R K Singh in Delhi and discussed with him measures to ensure uninterrupted power supply to J&K.
The augmentation of infrastructure was also discussed.
Various measures required to ensure uninterrupted power supply and improve power infrastructure in the Union Territory of J&K were discussed, according to officials.
The LG requested a higher power allocation to J&K. The Union Minister assured him to examine his request and take early action.
Sinha also shared the efforts of the UT government towards building up a transmission & distribution infrastructure and steps taken to reduce the AT&C losses and improving the quality and reliability of power supply to the people.
The Union Minister assured that his ministry would extend all possible assistance to J&K to ensure adequate availability of resources.
Power Secretary Alok Kumar and other senior officials of the Ministry of Power and New & Renewable Energy were also present on the occasion.
