Jammu, August17 : The Jammu District Kabaddi Association proudly hosted the inaugural ceremony of the much-anticipated Gold Cup Kabaddi Tournament today. The event marks a significant milestone in the district’s sporting calendar, aiming to promote and elevate the traditional sport of Kabaddi across the region.
The ceremony, held at Kabbadi field M A Stadium Jammu witnessed an enthusiastic gathering of players, coaches, sports enthusiasts, and dignitaries. The Chief Guest for the event, Sh. Rajeev Sharma, Member Jand K Sports Council and Sh. Rohit shastri reputed astrologers and Sh. Baljinder Singh Divisional Sports Officer Jammu are guest of honour along with other esteemed guests,Sh Kuldeep Kumar Gupta General Secretary Jand K Amateur Kabaddi Association, Sh Surinder Mohan ,Sh.S.S.Gill, Sh. Sangram Singh,Sh Ajay Gupta ,Sh. Anil Sharma,Sh Jeet Singh ,Sh. Sudesh Raina.Sh. Manik Sharma and Dharamjeet. Singh iinaugurated the tournament with a ceremonial lighting of the lamp, followed by a spirited opening match that set the tone for the competition.
Speaking at the ceremony, Sh. Rajeev Sharma praised the Jammu District Kabaddi Association for its efforts in organizing the Gold Cup, emphasizing the importance of such events in nurturing local talent and fostering a sense of community through sports. “Kabaddi is not just a sport but a reflection of our cultural heritage. This tournament is an excellent platform for our youth to showcase their skills and sportsmanship,” He remarked Secretary of the Jammu District Kabaddi Association, Sh. Sanjeet Sharma expressed gratitude to all participants, sponsors, and supporters for their contributions to making the event a reality.
