IMS Jammu Concludes ARAMBH’24: A Successful Induction Program for MBA Students

Jammu, August 16 : The Institution of Management Sciences, Jammu concluded its five-day MBA induction program, ARAMBH’24. The event was graced by esteemed guests, including Mr. Suneet Mehra — Senior Manager of Sales & Marketing at Sarveshwar Foods Ltd., Jammu, Er. Ankush Varma, Coordinator IIIM-TBI, Er Nidhi Jamwal — Softskills trainer and Life skills Coach and Director IMS, Dr. Meenakshi Sharma, along with the faculty and students.

The program commenced with the lighting of the ceremonial lamp, symbolizing the beginning of an enlightening journey for the new students. The Induction programme featured engaging sessions by Mr. Suneet Mehra on “MBA: A Journey of Self-Discovery and Growth,” urging students to focus on both professional and personal development;  Er. Nidhi Jamwal, Softskills trainer and Life skills Coach addressed the students, emphasizing the need to be multi-talented and adaptable in the ever-evolving corporate world. She highlighted the importance of continuously upgrading skills to meet industry demands. Similarly, Dr. Meenakshi Sharma took a session on ‘The Big Five Personality Traits,’ underscoring their significance in fostering effective communication, teamwork, and empathy in both personal and professional settings. Another highlight was a  keynote address from Er. Ankush Varma, who spoke on the “Startup Ecosystem in Jammu & Kashmir and Its Emerging Trends.” He shared his extensive experience in the education industry, skill development, and strategic partnerships, inspiring students to consider entrepreneurship as a viable career path. Er. Varma also discussed the role of IIIM-TBI in supporting early-stage startups, providing a roadmap from idea generation to commercialization, and highlighted successful startups in the region.

The programme also included various interactive activities for new students such as ‘Know Thy Partner,’ ‘Tagline Creation,’ ‘Innovation Incubator,’ Bid and Guess’ game and ‘Pitch the Product,’ which provided students with hands-on experience in creativity and innovation. The Programme concluded with an informative session on anti-ragging norms by Ms. Divya Jamwal, emphasizing the importance of maintaining a safe and respectful environment on campus. The final day of ARAMBH’24 saw the distribution of tokens of appreciation to the guests, and the program concluded with sports activities like chess and carrom, fostering camaraderie among the students. The induction program successfully set a strong foundation for the new MBA students, leaving them motivated and eager to embark on their academic journey.
