GS Sports Club Hosts Awareness Programme on Campaign Against Chinese/Nylon Thread at Shiksha Niketan Hr Sec School

Jammu, 8th August : GS Sports Club successfully organized an impactful awareness programme aimed at promoting the campaign against the use of Chinese/Nylon Thread (Gattu) at Shiksha Niketan Hr Sec School, Jeevan Nagar, Jammu. The event, presided over by President Atul Sudan alongside Principal Rameshwar Mengi, witnessed enthusiastic participation from the school community and esteemed guests.

The programme was graced by Chief Guest Kulbir Handa, Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP), who emphasized the importance of community awareness in safeguarding public safety and environmental health. 

Rakesh Dubey, JKAS, Administrator of Jammu Central Cooperative Bank Ltd. and Joint Registrar of Banking and Finance Cooperative Societies J&K, attended as the Guest of Honour. Dubey highlighted the crucial role of local initiatives in fostering economic self-reliance and sustainability.

Special Guest RJ Chaitanya from Mirchi Plus 98.3 Jammu added a dynamic touch to the event, engaging the audience with his vibrant presence and encouraging active participation in the campaign.

During the event, four students from Shiksha Niketan Hr Sec School delivered insightful speeches on the dangers of using Chinese/Nylon threads and the benefits of opting for traditional, locally-made alternatives. Isha Bali and Dashmesh Singh of Class 8th, along with Madhavi Gupta and Manmeet Singh of Class 11th, eloquently presented their thoughts, underscoring the significance of informed choices in everyday life.

In his address, Atul Sudan passionately advocated for the use of traditional, Made in India threads over Chinese products. He stressed the importance of supporting local economies and reducing dependence on foreign goods, particularly from countries that pose a strategic threat to India. Sudan’s call to action, “Vocal for Local,” resonated strongly with the audience, urging them to adopt indigenous products and contribute to the nation’s economic empowerment.

The programme concluded with a pledge by all attendees to promote and use eco-friendly, locally-manufactured threads, thereby contributing to a safer environment and a stronger, self-reliant India. Staff members Sudesh Rana, Sunita Sharma, Sudesh Kumar etc. organized this program brilliantly.
