Govt. Degreee College Khour Organised Tiranga Rally and Celebrated National Librarian’s Day

Jammu, August 12 : As a part of ongoing Independence Day Celebration from 1 st to 15 th August to commemorate 77th Independence Day, NSS and NCC Wing of Govt. Degree College Khour organized a Tiranga rally under the patronage of Prof. (Dr.) T.K. Sharma, Worthy Principal GDC Khour.

‘The Tiranga Rally’ is a symbol of our commitment to the nation and hold immense significance as it embodies the spirit of national unity, patriotism and pride. The rally saw enthusiastic participation from students and faculty members. The aim of the event was to promote patriotism and unity in diversity. Prof. (Dr.) T. K. Sharma flagged off the rally and emphasized the importance of national unity and integrity. While addressing the rally, he stressed on the importance of national unity and national integration. He also said that such events instill a sense of patriotism, unity and create a sense of belongingness towards nation. The rally started from the main gate of the college campus with students holding national flags in their hands. Further, they sang patriotic songs, showcasing their love and pride for the nation. The event concluded with a pledge taking ceremony, where participants vowed to uphold the values of the national flag. The event was led by Lt. Shivani Sharma, ANO Boys Senior Division. Besides, this the college’s library department celebrated the birthday of Dr. S. R. Ranganathan, the father of Library Science on the occasion of National Librarian’s Day.

The event was organized to recognize the tireless efforts of librarians in promoting knowledge and education. On the occasion, the head of the Library Department, Ms. Samita Sharma said, “We are proud to celebrate the birthday of Dr. S.R. Ranganathan, whose work has had a lasting impact on the field of librarianship.”
