GGM Science College Organizes Quiz Competition on “Freedom Struggle and National Heroes”

Jammu, August 6 :Continuing with the series of activities organized under the ‘Swachhata Pakhwada’ and in celebration of Independence Day, the NSS and NCC units of GGM Science College hosted a quiz competition focused on the theme of “Freedom Struggle and National Heroes.” This event was a part of the college’s ongoing efforts to instill a sense of patriotism and awareness about India’s rich history among students.

The event was honored by the presence of the esteemed Principal of GGM Science College, Prof. (Dr.) Romesh Kumar Gupta. He not only witnessed the quiz competition but also encouraged the students to actively participate in such educational and nation-building activities. His presence was a source of inspiration for all participants. He interacted with the students and briefed them about significance of national flag and its history.

The competition featured three teams, each showcasing their knowledge and understanding of India’s freedom struggle and its national heroes. The quiz was meticulously adjudged by two distinguished faculty members, Prof. Kiran Bala, Head of the Department of Biotechnology and Prof. Arti, Head of the Department of Environmental Sciences. Their expert judgment ensured a fair and competitive environment.

Among the teams, Team A consisting of students Mokshi, Tanish and Ujjwal, emerged victorious, demonstrating exceptional knowledge and quick thinking. In addition to the quiz competition, the event also included a cleanliness drive, further emphasizing the importance of Swachhata (cleanliness) as a part of national responsibility and civic duty. The combination of intellectual engagement and community service provided a holistic experience for the students.

The event was meticulously organized by the college’s dedicated faculty members, Lt. Dr. Devinder Kumar Sharma and Dr. Shafia S`aleem, Associate NCC Officers (ANOs), along with Dr. Rahul Kait and Dr. Neha Sharma, NSS Programme Officers (POs), played a pivotal role in the successful execution of the event. Their efforts ensured that the event was not only informative but also aligned with the broader objectives of the Swachhata Pakhwada and the Independence Day celebrations.
