NSS unit of GDC Kunjwani organised an awareness programme on World Environment Day. The program was organised under the able guidance of Prof Dr. Manisha Sarup Kohli, Principal of the College. A documentary was screened on the theme “ Land Restoration, Desertification and Drought Resilience”, followed by an interactive session with the students.The objective of the programme was to create awareness among the students about environmental issues.
On this occasion Dr. Sajaad Iqbal Khan HOD EVS delivered a thought provoking lecture on “”Our Land OurFuture. He sensitized the students about Global Warming and its impact on the planet and our nation as well. He encouraged the students for taking initiatives for nature preservation by planting saplings so that the future generations may get clean, green and healthy environment. He also suggested certain preventive measures to
reduce the use of non-renewable resources.
The programme culminated by presenting a sapling to a four year old girl child Vamika Sharma by the worthy Principal as a token of Green Grooming for the posterity . The formal vote of thanks was presented by Dr. Neeru Sharma NSS PO.
