GDC Khour Organize Plantation and Cleanliness Drive

Jammu, August 10 : In sequel to the activities and events organized to celebrate India’s 77th Independence Day, NSS and NCC wing in collaboration with the Department of EVS of Govt. Degree College Khour under the banner of ‘Swachhta Pakhwada’ organized a plantation and cleanliness drive in the college campus under the patronage of Prof. (Dr.) T.K.Sharma. The main motive behind the drive was to promote patriotism and environmental awareness among the students by promoting cleanliness and greenery of the campus. The event started at 11am with the plantation of saplings of various species of plants. Around 50 students participated in the event with great enthusiasm. During second half of the day, participants actively collected plastic waste from the college campus. NCC Cadets and NSS volunteers demonstrated their patriotism and commitment to social responsibility by collecting waste and disposing it off properly.

The event was coordinated by Lt. Shivani Sharma ANO NCC and Prof. Himanshu Khajuria, NSS PO. Prof. Pooja Kumari, HoD English and Prof Sunil Kumar, PTI were also present in the event. The plantation drive is a testament to the commitment of GDC Khour to environmental stewardship. The drive concluded with a pledge by all the participants to continue working towards a greener future and maintaining the campus cleanliness and promote sustainable practices.
