Jammu, August 12 : The NSS and NCC units of GGM Science College organized an awareness rally on 12th August 2024 to celebrate Independence Day and Swachhata Pakhwada. The event aimed to foster a sense of national pride and promote the importance of cleanliness among students and staff. The rally was held under the guidance of Principal Prof. (Dr.) Romesh Kumar Gupta, who has been a driving force behind these initiatives at the college. In his address, Prof. Gupta highlighted the significance of cleanliness as a tribute to the sacrifices of the nation’s freedom fighters and encouraged the youth to take an active role in maintaining a clean environment.
The event was meticulously organized by NSS Programme Officers (POs) Dr. Rahul Kait and Dr. Neha Sharma, along with NCC Associate NCC Officers (ANOs) Lt. Prof. Devinder Kumar Sharma and Dr. Shafia Saleem. Prof Sunita kumari, Prof Shalini Sharma, Dr Chaman lal, Dr. Vinod Kumar Bakshi, Dr Brinder Kumar, Dr Pawan Kumar,Prof Mona Sethi, Prof Kiran Bala, Dr Pankaj Gupta, Prof Neha Mahajan, Dr Gaurav Gupta , Dr. Rohit Bhardwaj, Dr. Mateen, Dr Altaf Ahmed, Dr Sheetu Raina Dr Lakwinder singh, Dr Bhekam Pal Singh, Prof Ram Krishna, Prof Ameeq, Prof Ankush Raj, Prof Vipin, Prof Kamaljeet, Prof Priti Verma, Dr Suram Singh, Prof Rajive and other faculty members were also present, supporting the rally and motivating the students. The rally, which took place outside the college premises, saw enthusiastic participation from NSS volunteers and NCC cadets, who marched through nearby areas, spreading messages of patriotism and cleanliness. The rally concluded with a pledge by all participants to uphold the principles of Swachhata and contribute to a cleaner and greener India.
