GOVERNMENT DEGREE COLLEGE (BOYS) KATHUA ORGANIZED INTER-COLLEGE COMPETITION

Kathua, August 10 : Today GDC Kathua organised Inter-College competition in four categories viz. Singing, Quiz, Essay and Painting competitions for the celebrations of 77th year of Independence. The whole event was organized by NSS and NCC Units of the college under the patronage of worthy Principal of the college, Prof. Seema Mir.

The program started with the lighting of auspicious lamp followed by Saraswati Vandana. Prof. Sanjay Karlupia, Head, Department of Geology, was the chief guest on the occasion. A formal welcome address was delivered by Dr. Yash Pal Sharma, Head, department of Urdu. He formally welcome all the participants and guests who came here from different colleges. The event received enthusiastic participation from the students across the colleges of District Kathua. Almost every college of the district participated in this Inter college event.

A detail report of all the activities conducted during the events was presented by Dr. Pinkey, NSS Program Officer of the college. In the Essay Writing Competition, Ist position was secured by Sania Billowria of GDC Kathua, 2nd position secured by Monika Malgotra of GDC Billawar and 3rd position was shared by Tania Rajput GCW Kathua and Kanika GDC Marheen. In painting competition, Lovely Thakur of GDC Ramkot, Sneha Sharma of GDC Kathua and Jyoti Sharma of GDC Hiranagar secured first, second and third position respectively. In quiz competition, Manjali Sharma from GDC Kathua got Ist position, Zahid Malik from GDC Billawar got 2 nd and Saloni from GDC Hiranagar got 3 rd position. In singing competition, Ist position was secured by Ankush of GDC Kathua, 2 nd position shared by Sunil Kumar of GD Mahanpur and Habil Shubh of GDC Hiranagar while 3 rd position is secured by GDC Basohli. NSS volunteers Vishal Gupta, Kanika Sharma, Shivika Rajput, Muskan Bhat, Rekha Kumari, Sitara and Nikita Sharma managed the event in the college. The proceedings of the program were conducted by Harsh and Ananya and formal vote of thanks was delivered by Dr Kulbir Singh, NSS Program Officer.
