Khour (Jammu), August 6 : As part of series of activities to commemorate 77 th National Independence Day under the banner of ‘Swachhta Pakhwada”, Govt. Degree College Khour organized National Anthem Singing Competition. Eight students from NSS & NCC units of the College participated in the competition with the aim to showcase patriotism. In this competition four different teams with two participants in each team gave tough battle to each other. Dr. Chetan Sharma, HoD Physics & Mr. Sunil Kumar, PTI acted as members of Jury and evaluated the participants skillfully. In this competition team of Tania Sharma & Janvi Manhas secured first position while team of Simran Sharma & Mansi Sharma bagged second position whereas team of Diljit Singh & Sumit Sharma secured third position. In his brief address, Principal Prof. (Dr.) T.K Sharma expressed his delight for participation of students in this activity related to Swachhta Pakhwada and encouraged them to ignite the sense of Nationalism in themselves from the stories of freedom struggle and contribution given by National heroes in attaining Independence. The event concluded on a high note, with participants expressing their gratitude for the opportunity to showcase their skills.
