Ramban, July 23 : On the directions of Deputy Commissioner Ramban, Baseer-Ul-Haq Chaudhary, an awareness program regarding various Self Employment Schemes under Mission Youth J&K and the Schemes of Industries Department, was conducted today at PWD Hut Ramsoo, Ramban. The program was conducted in coordination with the Rural Development Department and District Industries and Commerce Department Ramban.
The event aimed at generating mass awareness among the unemployed Youth of Block Ramsoo. Sh. Ghanshyam Basotra, Sub Divisional Magistrate Ramsoo, was present as Chief Guest in the Camp.
At the beginning of the programme, Sh. Amit Kumar, Assistant Labour Commissioner Ramban having additional charge of Assistant Director Employment Ramban briefed about the schemes of Mission youth like MUMKIN, Tejaswini and Spurring Entrepreneurship Initiatives. He elaborated the eligibility conditions, benefits and procedure of applying under the schemes. He further requested the youth to think differently and bring out innovative ideas and this department is ready to provide any financial and other support in the establishment of the unit and assured that such camps shall be held on monthly basis in each Block.
Representative of JK Bank Ramban, SBI Branch Manager Ramban, were also present and elaborated the sponsoring mechanism of the government Sponsored self employment cases, under various self-employment schemes at Bank level and assured that the proper SOP shall be followed to prevent unnecessary delay at bank level.
The camp was also attended by various labourers/ construction workers, to whom ALC Ramban gave detailed information about welfare schemes being provided by the the JKBOCWWB. He briefed the new rates of the education assistance to be provided to the wards of the registered construction workers applicable from this financial year 2024-25.
SDM Ramsoo highlighted the importance of Self employment Schemes, of various departments and encouraged the youth to take part in these schemes to become self-sufficient and self-reliant. He further motivated the youth to find innovative ideas and get involved in business activity in their local area.
During the camp on-the-spot registration of about 17 youth for various schemes of Mission youth was carried out by Young Professional Mr. Lovepreet Singh. Various queries related to registration and Renewal of labourer cards were also resolved.
At the end of the program, Career Counseling Officer Ramban offered a vote of thanks to Esteemed Guests and all the Participants, Youth and Labourers present at the event including media persons for covering the whole event.
