DODA: In an impressive programme, floral tributes were paid to Noted Personality of Doda and Rtd District Health Officer Doda Dr Masood Ahmed Tariq in a function organized by Niaz Ahmed Rahi of Doda’s Civil Society at Shivalik Guest House Doda.
The programme was presided over by Noted Educationist & Rtd College Principal Prof Zaheer Hashmi and was attended by a galaxy of personalities from different fields which includes Niaz Ahmed Rahi, Naseer Ahmed Khora, Ishtiaq Ahmed Dev, Dr Matloob Ahmed Tak, Manzoor Ahmed Batt, Hafiz Ullah Khora, Zaffar Altaf Patigaroo, Nisar Ahmed Banday, Er Nazir Ahmed Sheikh, Shakeel Ahmed Dev, Gh Hassan Bagwan, Asif Zargar, Imtiyaz Ahmed, Faizan A Tramboo and Saied Sheikh were among those present on the occasion.
In his welcome address, chairman Naseer Khora threw light on the life of Dr Masood Ahmed Tariq and his contribution towards society while other speakers also recalled the contribution of Late Dr M A Tariq for the society. They said the death of Dr Masood Ahmed Tariq has left a great void in the society, which is hard to fill.
Further they added that Late Dr who was a type of person who believed in secularism, humanism and always stood for his principles and devoted his entire life for the cause of justice besides remained always active in highlighting the public and developmental related issues of Doda region and his unblemished services in the health sector, which will be remembered for long.
During the programme, a two minute silence was also observed by the participants as a mark of respect to the departed soul. Later on, the organizers presented a Memento to the family members of Late Dr Tariq, in recognition of his selfless and dedicated services in the department and towards society.
Pertinent to mention here that Dr Masood Ahmed Tariq died at the age of 60 years on April 22, 2023 due to prolonged illness, who was a Retired Distt. Health Officer in the Health Deptt. besides being Advisor of Young Star Cricket Club Doda and also remained associated with various reputed NGOs and social organizations of the district.
