The Indian Army, in its continuous efforts to foster stronger ties with local communities, organised a heartening interaction with village elders in Sohanda, Doda. This outreach initiative aimed not only to understand the needs and concerns of the populace but also to reaffirm the Army’s commitment to serving the people of the region.
The soldiers of the Indian Army spent a day in Sohanda, engaging in meaningful conversations with the esteemed elders of the village as goodwill gesture. The interaction, which took place against the picturesque backdrop of the Himalayas, provided an invaluable opportunity to both the Army personnel and the villagers to exchange perspective and insights on various matters of mutual interest.
During the interaction, the officers discussed a wide range of topics including Infrastructure Development, Healthcare Facilities, Education Initiatives and Employment Opportunities.The participation of young boys in Agnipath scheme as Agniveers in the region were also conveyed. The elders, in turn, appreciated the Indian Army’s efforts in maintaining peace and security in the area and voiced their support for collaborative endeavours aimed at the socio-economic upliftment of the villages.
In addition to the discussions, the Indian Army informed the elders about various skill development workshops for the youth of the village, aimed at overall development of the region.
