Kathua, July 29 :NCC unit of GDC, Kathua organized a plantation drive under the ablest guidance of worthy principal, Prof. Seema Mir based on the theme:” Ek Ped Maa Ke Naam “on 29-07-2024 in an approach to make mother Earth Planet Green and Clean. On this occasion Principal madam addressed students and highlighted the importance of organizing such events, as the temperature on earth raised day by day due to increased industrialization and deforestation so it is necessary for all to plant atleast one sapling in a year. The event began with a plantation of a sapling by the worthy principal in the College campus. Then several species of fruits and flowering plants were planted by NCC Cadets in different departments of the college. The main motto to organize such an event is to develop the feeling of affection towards plants among mankind. As all of us aware with the fact due to increase in temperature, our earth became a ball of Fire and led to different problems like global warming, Glacier depletion, Soil erosion etc.and it’s the time to rectify our mistakes which we have made earlier in the name of Industrialization and so called Socio- economic development.
The whole event was organized under the supervision of Ms. Raj Kumari . HoD ’s and faculty of different departments Mr. Jagdish Kumar (HoD Chemistry), Dr. Dinesh Jasrotia (HoD Physics), Dr. Sanjeev Gupta (HoD Botany),Ms.Shrdha Anand, Dr.Shivani Kotwal, Dr. R.K.Manhas, Dr. Pinkey Dr.Shiv , Mr.` Rakesh Sharma, Mr. Arun Kumar joined hands together to make the drive successful. Cadets showed a feeling of Joy and enthusiasm during the entire drive. The event was made possible because of continuous motivation and guidance by Mr. Muneesh Jasrotia (CO NCC 2nd J&K Girls Battalion) to GDC Kathua NCC unit.
