Indian Army and Dr. Bukhari’s Cocoon Artistry Initiative Collaborate to Empower Youth in Rajouri District.

    In a significant endeavor to empower the youth of Rajouri District, the Indian Army joined hands with Dr. Rubia Bukhari’s Cocoon Artistry Initiative to organize a transformative workshop on sericulture and cocoon artistry. The event took place on 18 May 2024, at village Chamba in Rajouri district, marking a pivotal moment in the efforts to uplift communities through skill development and entrepreneurship.

            The workshop, spearheaded by Gambhir Battalion in collaboration with Dr. Rubia Bukhari, a Cocoon Artist and Lecturer at the Department of Sericulture, Poonch Campus, University of Jammu, aimed to educate, inspire, and empower the youth of the region. By introducing them to the art and science of sericulture and cocoon craft, the initiative seeks to encourage them to explore these fields as potential career paths.

            A diverse group of participants, including 60 males, 2 females, and 70 students, enthusiastically engaged in the workshop, showcasing the community’s interest and commitment to learning and skill development. Through hands-on activities and interactive sessions, attendees gained valuable insights into the intricacies of sericulture and cocoon artistry, laying the foundation for potential future endeavors in these fields.

            The workshop culminated with heartfelt expressions of gratitude from the participants, underscoring the impact and significance of such initiatives in fostering economic empowerment and self-reliance within communities. The collaborative efforts of the Indian Army and Dr. Rubia Bukhari’s Cocoon Artistry Initiative exemplify a shared commitment to youth empowerment and community development.
