Jammu : Provincial President J&K National Conference, Adv Rattan Lal Gupta said the youth of the J&K have been completely demoralised by unemployment and claimed their future is in “limbo” under the present dispensation.
The senior NC leader was speaking while addressing a meeting of Youth Wing of National Conference (NC) at Sher-e-Kashmir Bhawan, Jammu. The meeting was convened under the chairmanship of Tejinder Pal Singh, District President JKYNC Jammu Urban in which Rattan Lal Gupta was the Chief Guest.
At the beginning of the meeting, Tejinder Pal Singh threw light on the challenges being faced by the youth due to the anti-youth policies adopted by the ruling government at the Centre/ J&K. He highlighted that unemployment in Jammu and Kashmir is at its peak. Over the past decade, the youth have faced numerous issues, including unemployment, recruitment scams, a rise in drug peddling, and ad-hocism in government departments.
Addressing the party workers, Rattan Lal Gupta said that under the BJP’s regime, the youth of Jammu and Kashmir have been left in a state of despair and demoralization due to rampant unemployment. He criticized the government for its failure to provide adequate employment opportunities and for neglecting the needs and aspirations of the young population. The policies implemented by the current administration have not only failed to generate jobs but have also led to a significant increase in joblessness, Rattan Lal drew attention to the alarming number of vacant post across various government departments, he added.
The senior NC leader pointed out that the youth of this Union Territory have been the worst affected by multiple recruitment scams under the current administration. Notably, the cancellation of FAA, fire emergency services, SI exams, and several other recruitment exams has created uncertainty about the future. He criticized the LG Government for failing to ensure fair, transparent, and timely exams and recruitment processes, leading to a bleak future for the youth.
Sheikh Bashir Ahmed, Pardeep Bali Provincial Secretaries Jammu said that the government’s failure to raise 2 Border Battalion and neglect the locals in power projects which severely affecting the unemployed youth of Jammu region. They highlighted that despite signing MoUs worth over Rs 85,000 crores, there have been no tangible results on the ground, exacerbating the problems faced by the youth.They questioned the government on the future of the youth in Jammu and Kashmir if recruitment and regularization continue to be mismanaged and chaotic.
Vijay Lochan Chairman SC Cell and Rakesh Singh Raka Vice President Central Zone called on the people of Jammu and Kashmir to strengthen the hands of Dr. Farooq Abdullah by supporting the National Conference in the upcoming Assembly elections for the brighter future of their children.
The District President Jammu Urban YNC Tejinder Singh urged the youth brigade of the Party to stay visible in the public eye and inform the youth of J&K about the misdeeds of the current administration. He emphasized that it is time for the people as well as youth of J&K to respond to the BJP’s anti-people and anti-youth actions by supporting the National Conference in the upcoming political battle in J&K, aiming to end the BJP’s misrule. It is for the first time in the history of J&K that above 300 porters are engage by the army from out the UT which is unjustified because there are already lacs of unemployment youth in UT.
