DDC Kishtwar reviews progress of works under B2V, Jal Jeevan Mission

District Development Commissioner Rajinder Singh Tara today chaired a meeting to review the status of work on Back to Village and Languish works of Jal Jeevan Mission project in the district.

The meeting was attended by the Additional District Development Commissioner, Mohammad Hanief Malik, Joint Director Planning Mohd Iqbal , Chief Medical officer, Dr RS Manhas ,Chief Education officer Kishtwar Dr. Kuldeep Sharma, Executive Engineer Hydraulic Division Kishtwar N.K. Gupta, District Social Welfare Officer Kishtwar, Tariq Parveez Qazi, Block Development Officer Kishtwar Sheetal Sharma , AEEs , ROs and others concerned officials.

The DDC took stock of the status of the prestigious Naigad water project and the implementation of Jal Jeevan Mission in Thakrie, Drabshalla and Trigam blocks.

Threadbare discussions were held on various modalities and issues like the unavailability of pipes and delay in the procurement of materials due to lockdown measures and the slackness on behalf of contractors who have been assigned with different works.

Executive Engineer, hydraulic division Kishtwar briefed the DDC about the various component wise works of the prestigious Jal Jeevan Mission under back to village and languishing work.

The DDC directed the concerned authorities of the hydraulic department to get on the work under B2V and other categories in the Dachhan, Marwah and Warwan area on priority as these snow bound areas has a short working season hence requires expeditious completion of the targeted work there.

As the numerous works of hydraulic division like carriage, laying and fitting of G.I. pipes in G. main and distribution system has already been enlisted in the items of permitted development works in the district, hence there is no problem in the execution process, reiterated DDC and he further directed that the execution shall be followed immediately for timely completion of said works.

To ensure the availability of the adequate water supply in the school for assured hygiene to combat COVID 19, he directed the Executive Engineer PHE to expedite the work on installation and restoration of water supplies in all 109 earmarked schools in time bound manner ahead of the opening of school in the district.

Finally, he has asked the Executive Engineer Hydraulic division Kishtwar to submit the progress reports on weekly basis in his office in order to monitor the desired results.
