CBI ARRESTS ACCUSED OFFICE QANOONGO, J&K, WHILE ACCEPTING BRIBE OF Rs. 18,000/- FROM COMPLAINANT
The Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) has arrested accused Office Qanoongo, O/o Tehsildar Banihal, District-Ramban, J&K, while accepting bribe of Rs. 18,000/- from complainant.
A case was registered by CBI against the accused Office Qanoongo, O/o Tehsildar Banihal, District-Ramban, J&K on allegations that accused demanded a bribe of Rs.20,000/- from the complainant for processing his application for land settlement. After negotiation, accused agreed to accept the bribe amount of Rs.18000/- from the complainant.
CBI laid a trap on 27.05.2024 and caught the accused red-handed while accepting bribe of Rs.18000/- from the complainant.Searches were conducted at residential and official premises of the accused which led to recovery of Rs.3,71,500/- (approx) cash and other documents.
Investigation is continuing
