Jammu : Electoral Literacy Club and SWEEP Cell of GGM Science College, Jammu, in coordination with Election Cell Jammu organized an enlightening awareness camp today, focusing on the importance and process of voter card enrolment. The event was inaugurated by the Chief Guest Dr. Romesh Kumar Gupta, Principal, GGM Science College. He stressed on the importance of voting as a fundamental right and responsibility of every citizen. He encouraged the students to take the initiative to register and motivate their peers to do the same. The keynote speaker for the event was Ms. Anita Raina, Supervisor Social Welfare Department Jammu and
technical session was conducted by Ms. Sheetal, BLO Jammu West. Ms. Raina emphasized the crucial role of young voters in shaping the future of the nation. She outlined the step-by- step procedure for enrolling for a voter card, highlighting the necessary documents and the online and offline methods available. Additionally, she addressed common challenges faced during the enrolment process and provided practical solutions to overcome them.
In the technical session, Ms. Sheetal allowed students to ask questions and clarify their doubts regarding voter registration. Among others who present in the event were Dr. Pankaj Gupta, Convener SWEEP Cell, Dr. Chaman Lal, Dr. Akanksha Parihar and Dr. Gourav Gupta. The session concluded with a formal vote of thanks from Professor Brinder Kumar, Convener Electoral Literacy Club, who reiterated the commitment of the college in fostering informed and responsible citizens.
