Govt failed to safeguard rights of OBC Abdul Gani Teli.

Jammu : The present dispensation has completely failed to safeguard the rights and interests of OBC.Despite numerous promises and assurances,there has been no substantial action to address the systemic issues and injustices faced by the community.

This was stated by Abdul Gani Teli, Chairman JKNC OBC Cell,while addressing a meeting at Vijaypur,continuing his public outreach programs organised by Murad Shah block president obc cell.

National Conference OBC Cell has sought implementation of a 27 per cent quota in jobs and professional institutions for other backward classes communities as has been adopted in several other states of the country and one time issuance of the category certificate.He also demanded that the appointment of the chairman of the OBC board should be done only from the OBC community.

Mr Teli said the political reservation for the OBCs is imperative to ensure their active participation in the democratic process and role in the decision making. He regretted that this aspect has been ignored by the administration and expressed dismay over the failure in redressing their grievances.

Abdul Gani Teli sought immediate redressal of the grievances of OBC communities, saying that the administration should not test their patience anymore.

He recalled the contribution of the National Conference led government under Omar Abdullah as Chief Minister towards the welfare and empowerment of other backward classes.
