3 killed, 15 injured in Samba accident

The ill fated UP bound bus which was badly damaged in an accident at Samba on Wednesday

A mother-daughter was among three person killed while 15 passengers were injured in a tragic accident near Samba on Jammu-Pathankot National Highway this evening.

An Uttar Pardesh Transport Corporation (UPTC) bus which was on way from Jammu to Haridwar was hit by a Jammu Kathua bound superfast bus which was coming behind and rammed to UPTC bus.

The deceased have been identified as Mangi Devi age 36 and her daughter Tania 13 years old residents of Batala Punjab and Kasturi Lal son of Buta Ram resident of Rajpura, Samba.

The seriously injured have been identified as superfast driver, Amrinder resident of Kathua, Lovely son of Surjit Singh resident of Pathankot, Madhu and her husband Kamal both resident of Kathua, Bharti Devi daughter of Vinod Kumar resident of Pathankot, Raj Kumar son of Charan Dass resident of Samba and Jagdev Singh resident of Pathankot. All the seriously injured have been referred to GMC for advanced treatment.

The other injured undergoing treatment at District Hospital Samba have been identified as Amarjit Kour wife of Harvinder Singh resident of Rajbagh, Kathua, Darshana Devi wife of Bishamber Dass resident of Chandigarh, Raman S/o Subash Chander resident of Kathua, Deep Mala wife of Varinder Singh resident of Samba, Monika wife of Jatinder resident of Kathua, Ramesh Chand son of Vidhi Chand resident of Batala Punjab.
